The Nutcracker
This classical ballet in two acts will capture your imagination and transport you into a magical world of brave toy soldiers and dancing snowflakes. Follow Clara as she embarks on her journey filled with colorful characters, breathtaking costumes and majestic scenery. From the captivating dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy to the iconic snow scene this Tchaikovsky classic will enthrall audiences of all ages.
Artistic Director, Melissa Padham-Maass, along with the faculty of the Warwick Center for the Performing Arts are pleased to present their annual performance of "The Nutcracker" at the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center. This traditional ballet will be performed by the Warwick Dance Collective, students from WCPA, Fei Tian College Middletown and Northern Academy of the Arts, performers from the community and professional guest artists.

Show in a Day Challenge
The “Show in a Day Challenge” at the Warwick Center for the Performing Arts invites young dancers, actors, artists, directors, and designers ages 6-12 to join us for a collaborative and hands-on workshop experience on October 14th from 9:00am - 2:00pm. Students will work together to create an original show, using recycled materials to design sets, costumes, and props.
Each participant will have the opportunity to choose the role they want to explore—whether it’s performing, directing, or designing. This workshop is focused on encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork, with an emphasis on the process of bringing a performance to life rather than the final result. Students will leave with newfound confidence and excitement for the arts!
Cost: $100 for the day. Limited spots available—register today to secure your place!
Nutcracker Auditions
Warwick Dance Collective's 2024 Nutcracker Auditions
Get ready to be part of the holiday magic! The Warwick Dance Collective is holding auditions for the 2024 Nutcracker, which will take place at the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center. Performances are scheduled for Friday, December 6th at 7:00 PM, Saturday, December 7th at 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM, and Sunday, December 8th at 2:00 PM. Dancers may be cast in as few as two performances or as many as four, depending on the role.

Rehearsal Information:
Ages 12 and up: Rehearsals will be on Saturday afternoons and/or Sundays beginning September 28th.
Ages 5-11: Rehearsals will be on Sundays beginning September 29th.
Performance fees are separate from tuition and cover costume rentals, alterations, dry cleaning, professional photography and videography, all rehearsals, and show t-shirts. Fees are due by October 15th and can be paid by check or cash to THE WARWICK DANCE COLLECTIVE. A 20% sibling discount is available for families with multiple performers.

Fuller Moon Arts Festival

Join us at the Fuller Moon Arts Festival, where performance, art, and nature converge in a beautiful lakefront setting. From 11 AM to 5 PM, enjoy live music from the Aiden Woods Jazz Trio and Little Stony Point band, explore "Wonderville," a village of interactive curiosities, and participate in workshops like belly dancing and printmaking. Talented young performers from the Warwick Broadway Collective and Fiddle Frenzy will also take the stage. Food trucks, a lakeside bar, and a curated maker market add to the experience.
As evening falls, don’t miss the 5 PM improv dance collaboration featuring Beyond Jazz, Warwick Dance Collective, and Ian Wen/de novo dance, followed by the 6 PM premiere of "Meliora," a mythological ballet by Warwick Center for the Performing Arts. The night concludes with a lakeside pavilion dance party featuring acrobats, drummers, and performers from Forces of Nature Dance Theatre youth group.

Into the Woods
The Warwick Center for the Performing Arts proudly presents their Summer Production of "Into the Woods," on Friday August 9th, 7pm at the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center, featuring talented students ages 13 and up. Directed by Noreen Hanson, with vocal direction by Stephanie Thiessen and musical direction by Richard Schacher, this enchanting musical weaves together beloved fairy tales, including Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel, exploring the consequences of the characters' wishes and quests. With captivating performances, dynamic choreography, and stunning set designs, this production promises to be a magical journey through the dark and whimsical woods. Join us for an unforgettable evening as our young performers bring these classic stories to life with creativity and passion.

The Snow Queen
Join us for a captivating end-of-the-year dance performance of The Snow Queen, presented by the Warwick Center for the Performing Arts. This enchanting show will feature stunning choreography from our contemporary, improvisation/choreography, tap, jazz, jazz funk, and Irish Step Dance classes.
Held at the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center on June 15th, there will be two performances:
2:00 PM Show: Showcasing all students from our non-ballet classes.
7:00 PM Show: Featuring our older students from those classes.
Based on Hans Christian Andersen's timeless fairy tale, The Snow Queen follows the journey of a young girl named Gerda as she sets out to rescue her best friend, Kai, from the icy clutches of the Snow Queen. Fundraising Highlight: Our ambitious goal for "Mary Poppins" is to create a breathtaking moment where Mary flies across the stage, necessitating a complex rigging system. This magical feat aims to captivate and inspire audiences of all ages, symbolizing the essence of live theater's enchantment.
Challenge & Goal: The high production costs for theater rental, costumes, and technical needs are substantial. Our mission is to keep live theater accessible by maintaining affordable ticket prices, and your support can make this possible.
